Detroit Lions (0-3) at Chicago Bears (1-2)

Sunday, October 3, 1PM PT

Things aren’t going well for the Chicago Bears right now. Odds are, that isn’t going to change in the near future. Even with the Detroit Lions coming to town, there’s a solid chance the Bears suffer their third loss of the 2021 campaign in Week 4.

It’s telling when the Bears can’t even decide who their starting quarterback it is — although I don’t blame them. Andy Dalton wasn’t great to start the season, and probably isn’t fully healthy heading into Week 4. And then there’s Justin Fields, who is coming off a miserable first start under center. Then again, is the Chicago offensive line capable of protecting any of their quarterbacks?

Meanwhile, the Lions haven’t been as bad as their record indicates. They nearly toppled the Baltimore Ravens last week before Justin Tucker ruined their day, and they gave the San Francisco 49ers a legitimate run for their money in Week 1 as well. As long as Jared Goff stays smart and the Detroit defense steps up, there’s no telling what could happen in this one.

The Bears have won five of their last six matchups against the Lions. However, their most recent meeting ended in a Lions victory. I’m predicting Detroit starts a small streak and leaves Soldier Stadium with their first win of the year.

Prediction: Lions win 21-16 | Spread: Bears (-3)
