The Dallas Cowboys have done well in recent drafts building a solid roster. In this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, they focus on building up both of their lines

At 2-1, the Dallas Cowboys are off to a solid start this season They’re in first place in the NFC East and just embarrassed the Philadelphia Eagles in their home debut.

In each game they have played this season, they have looked vastly improved from a season ago — especially on defense where they suddenly learned how to take the ball away. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t some areas where they can still improve.

With that being said, we take a shot at improving their roster for 2022 and beyond with this aggressively early seven-round 2022 Mock Draft.

Dallas Cowboys Round 1 pick: Tyler Linderbaum, C, Iowa

Last season, the Cowboys really struggled on the offensive line, due largely to health issues. La’el Collins was out for the entire season and Tyron Smith played in just two games. They also had to go without Zack Martin for six games while both Tyler Biadasz and Joe Looney were in and out in the middle.

So far this season, health has not been an issue — and it has shown. Smith is playing well as is Connor Williams and Zack Martin. They’ve also had great play from Connor McGovern whenever he’s come in and while Collins has been suspended, Terence Steele has been solid.

That doesn’t mean there’s no room for improvement, because there is. The aforementioned Tyler Biadasz has been the weak link through three games. He was even the lineman pushed into Dak Prescott, which caused a fumble that was picked up by Fletcher Cox for a touchdown in Week 3.

Unless he turns a corner from here on, there’s a good chance Dallas could look for a new center which is what they do here with the selection of Tyler Linderbaum from Iowa. Linderbaum is on the lighter side at 289-pounds but he doesn’t lack play strength and is widely considered the top center in the upcoming class. It might not be a “wow” pick but this would truly improve their offense.
