Dallas Cowboys bold prediction No. 2: Micah Parsons scores two strip-sacks

The Dallas Cowboys can say all they want that Micah Parsons will move back to linebacker when they’re at full strength on the defensive line, but the rookie might not allow that to happen.

That’s not to say he’s going to be defiant and refuse, but rather that his play has been so special that defensive coordinator Dan Quinn is going to have a hard time moving him back.

Dallas lost their star defensive end, DeMarcus Lawrence, to a broken foot, and with Randy Gregory also out in Week 2 due to being on the COVID list, Parsons moved to the edge. He had two tackles and a sack, which happened to be a huge one on Justin Herbert late in the victory.

In Week 3, Gregory was back but Dorance Armstrong was out and Parsons again filled in this time recording four tackles and a half-sack. Entering this weekend, Parsons is tied with defensive tackle — and fellow rookie Osa Odighizuwa — with 1.5 sacks. It’s not a ton but it’s impressive that he’s tied for the team-lead especially considering he’s playing out of position.

We also shouldn’t expect to see him slow down much while playing on the line. And in this bold prediction, he not only continues to excel but racks up two sacks on Sam Darnold, putting himself well ahead of the rest of the Dallas defenders on the young season.
