On Sunday, the Indianapolis Colts faced an opponent who they know well, Jacoby Brissett. The Miami Dolphins are still without Tua Tagovailoa which has opened the door for Brissett to start. A former third-round pick of the New England Patriots, Brissett was traded to the Colts in 2017 to replace an injured Andrew Luck.

He then spent 2018 as Luck’s backup before again taking the starting role in 2019 after Luck retired. The back and forth continued as he was on the bench behind Philip Rivers in 2020 before opting to sign with Miami this offseason.

With Tua out, Brissett was again under center but he struggled to move the ball down the field. He finished with 199 yards and two touchdowns but the Colts handed their former quarterback a loss by a score of 27-17.

For the Colts, it was their first win of the season and the first time they won with Carson Wentz under center. Wentz finished with 228 yards and two touchdowns of his own while running back Jonathan Taylor added 103 yards and a touchdown on 16 rushes. Defensively, they had a big day from Kemoko Turay who had two sacks.

Now at 1-3, the Colts are still in decent shape since the Titans lost to the Jets which dropped them to 2-2. The AFC South is still wide open.
