Things just haven’t gone right for the Detroit Lions yet. They’re now 0-4 on the year after a 24-14 loss to the Chicago Bears, which felt like a game they had a shot in.

unfortunately, they became their own worst enemy as Carlos Monarrez of the Detroit Free Press said the Lions, namely head coach Dan Campbell, got too aggressive for their own good. Monarrez said you knew Campbell would be aggressive when he kicked his career off by talking about biting kneecaps but said there needs to be a point where you’re conservative on offense.

"“I get that. And I like Campbell’s aggressiveness. To a point. But Sunday in Chicago was not the time for the Lions to be aggressive on offense. The Bears entered with the NFL’s worst offense, averaging 191.7 yards per game. They had the second-worst scoring offense at 13.3 points per game. They were starting a rookie quarterback in Justin Fields who had been sacked nine times last week.” — Monarrez, Detroit Free Press"

Detroit is still looking for their first win under Campbell and early on, they showed a lot of heart and made it close against the 49ers and hung with the Packers for a half and the Ravens until Justin Tucker drilled a 66-yarder to dash their hopes.

This game felt like one they could have won when it kicked off but it wasn’t meant to be.
