2021 NFL Power Rankings, Week 5: Cowboys make statement, Cardinals take the top spot

It was the first time ever that both the New York Giants and New York Jets won overtime games on the same day. The Jets won over an AFC South opponent as they knocked off the Tennessee Titans which was a surprise — and their first win of the season. Coincidentally, the Giants also won a surprise game which was their first of the season, as they took on the New Orleans Saints from the NFC South.

For the Giants, they had some big performances to really build upon. Daniel Jones, who had been an issue for much of the early part of the season had a huge performance with 402 yards passing with two touchdowns. He hit Kenny Golladay six times for 116 yards but also had a breakout by rookie Kadarius Toney as well as John Ross.

Toney had his best game as a pro, pulling in six catches for 78 yards and Ross had 77 yards and a touchdown. Running back Saquon Barkley added 52 yards on the ground and 74 as a receiver while scoring two total touchdowns — he also had the game-winner in overtime.

New York is now 1-3, meaning they need a lot to go their way in order to get into the playoff picture but this weekend was a step in the right direction.
