4. Stephon Gilmore could give a Dallas Cowboys defense on the rise another boost

Another team with which offense was never in question, the Dallas Cowboys have been hot as they’re off to a 3-1 start. But while Dak Prescott and the offense have been absolutely cooking in every game thus far, the emergence of a solid defense has been one of the biggest shockers. Dan Quinn has given this unit a boost, as have the ascensions of Trevon Diggs and Micah Parsons.

With that said, the secondary still does worry many Cowboys fans at cornerback. There are times when opposing teams can get after the likes of Jourdan Lewis and Anthony Brown. However, adding Stephon Gilmore to the mix would completely change things for Dallas. He could come in and form an elite 1-2 duo with Diggs and really make the Cowboys look like Super Bowl contenders.

3. Tampa Bay’s injuries makes Stephon Gilmore a great fit on the Buccaneers

So much was made about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers winning the Super Bowl last year and then bringing the band back. Every player who started for the team in 2020 returned for the 2021 season. But what was overlooked to do that, though, was the lack of depth created by bringing all of these guys back. And that’s started to show already with the majority of their cornerback room going down with injuries.

The Buccaneers have already brought in Richard Sherman to help stop the bleeding and he started less than a week after signing. But Gilmore would be a much bigger asset for this team that still eyes another run at the Lombardi Trophy. Bringing him in would shore up the most uncertain part of the roster right now while the Bucs get healthy while reuniting the cornerback with Tom Brady.
