2. Signing Stephon Gilmore would be a huge get for the Green Bay Packers

It didn’t take long for superstar players to start recruiting Gilmore and one of the first was Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams. As the cornerback posted a farewell to New England on Instagram, Adams chimed in with a simple message: Call me.

Stephon Gilmore would be huge for the Packers cornerback room. Yes, Jaire Alexander is a stud and the team is high on rookie first-rounder Eric Stokes, who has played well. But Green Bay is still having to play Kevin King, who was brought back by necessity, quite a few snaps.

By bringing in Gilmore, the Packers would be able to push King either down the depth chart or off the roster, which would be huge for the back end of the defense. For a team with two straight NFC Championship Game appearances, Green Bay could use this big-time boost to the defense.

1. The Baltimore Ravens make perfect sense for Stephon Gilmore

After Gilmore was released, there were a number of AFC North fans already pleading for someone, somehow to block the Ravens from signing Stephon Gilmore. And it’s not hard to see why. This is the exact type of move that Baltimore not only needs right now but the type of play they make on the market seemingly all the time that helps to give them make a real leap to being legitimate contenders with their much-respected front office at work.

Baltimore lost Marcus Peters for the year in the preseason amid their slew of running back injuries and, while the defense has been fine, the lack of a top-tier coverage cornerback in Peters has been evident at times. Putting Gilmore in the mix with Marlon Humphrey would be huge. It would let the Ravens retain their long-standing identity as a coverage-reliant team and let the team hit their stride as they eye a deep playoff run.
