Scouting Report. John Metchie. player. 15. Pick Analysis. WR. Alabama. 21

21. New Orleans Saints: John Metchie, WR, Alabama

Rumors have been circulating for a while now that Michael Thomas isn’t thrilled with the New Orleans Saints. It could all end with him being dealt and if so, the Saints are going to need a new No. 1 wide receiver. Even if they do keep Thomas, they could use another player capable of sharing the load.

In short, they would be wise to use their first-round pick in 2022 on a wide receiver. We have been predicting it for a couple of years now and while they have yet to do so, we try again to make such a selection for them, grabbing John Metchie from Alabama.

Over the past couple of drafts, Alabama wideouts have been dominating the first round and Metchie is reminiscent of several of them who have entered the league. He’s a cerebral route-runner with soft hands that does everything asked of him.

Scouting Report. Utah. Pick Analysis. LB. Devin Lloyd. 22. player. 59

22. Miami Dolphins (via San Francisco 49ers): Devin Lloyd, LB, Utah

After all the moving they did in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins ended up giving their pick in this round to Philadelphia while being on the clock with the pick originally owned by the San Francisco 49ers. Here, they use the selection on Devin Llyod from Utah.

Miami spent several early resources on offense last season and now, Brian Flores goes back to the other side of the ball and lands himself a playmaker for the middle of his defense.
