2022 NFL Mock Draft: Spencer Rattler free falls, Sam Howell to Giants
By Randy Gurzi
5. Detroit Lions: Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame
The jury is still out on Dan Campbell who actually had a lot going for him in the first three weeks. He orchestrated a huge comeback against the 49ers that just fell short and had a lead in the first half against Green Bay in Week 2. Then in Week 3, he should have had his first win of the year against Baltimore but Justin Tucker decided to break an NFL record by kicking it in from 66 yards out.
Week 4 was worse for them as the Bears won 24-14 and the Lions were never really in the game. Campbell needs to prove he’s the right guy by finally starting to nail down some wins.
In this mock draft, he continues building the team by selecting g Kyle Hamilton from Notre Dame. Hamilton can do everything you need a defender to do and should help keep the game closer so maybe record-breaking field goals don’t ruin everything.
6. Philadelphia Eagles (via Indianapolis Colts): Derek Stingley, CB, LSU
It’s hard to pinpoint where the Philadelphia Eagles need help because they need so much of it. They could go quarterback if Jalen Hurts continues to struggle or maybe they focus on the defense. In this mock, they use their first pick courtesy of the Carson Wentz trade with Indianapolis on LSU cornerback Derek Stingley.
