7. New York Giants (via Chicago Bears): DeMarvin Leal, EDGE, Texas A&M

After already adding a quarterback with their first pick in this draft, the New York Giants are back on the clock with a selection they gained from the Chicago Bears in the Justin Fields trade. New York uses this pick on DeMArvin Leal from Texas A&M.

Leal is already one of the better run-stuffers in the nation but with some work at the next level, he could become a complete force at defensive end. His versatility and ability to move all over the line is helpful for the Aggies but he will benefit from staying in one spot and developing there at the next level.

8. Atlanta Falcons: Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss

Matt Ryan hasn’t been bad by any means this season, and even had his best game of the year against Washington in Week 4. However, the team is still losing with him under center and he’s not going to be getting any younger.

This means it might be time for Atlanta to finally begin to look for his replacement. They may have found that in Matt Corral from Ole Miss. Corral is having a huge season so far in 2021 and it could be enough to push him into the top-10.

For Atlanta, the question becomes what they want to do with him and Ryan. Does Corral sit and learn, or does he start right away? Either way, adding a young signal-caller is a step in the right direction.
