13. New England Patriots: Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State

After making a lot of moves this offseason to re-tool their offense, the New England Patriots still find themselves struggling to get the job done. To make things worse, they just lost a close game to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who are, of course, quarterbacked by Tom Brady.

New England is still looking for the magic formula without TB12 and that leads to them picking up more weapons for young Mac Jones. This time, it’s Chris Olave from Ohio State.

What makes Olave a great fit for the Patriots is his ability to do everything well. He might not stand out in any specific area but he doesn’t have many holes and should have a long, productive career at the next level.

14. Philadelphia Eagles (via Miami Dolphins): Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State

Back on the clock for the third time in this draft, the Eagles finally go with an offensive player as they take Garrett Wilson from Ohio State just one pick after Chris Olave goes. With a roster that already has DeVonta Smith and Jalen Reagor, this might feel like a luxury pick, but that’s what you do when there are three selections in the first 14 picks to use.

On top of that, Reagor has yet to prove he’s a long-term starter in Philly. His yards per reception have dropped big time in the first quarter of the season and unless he turns the corner in the final 15 games, he might be fighting just to be the No. 3 guy in 2022.
