2022 NFL Mock Draft: Spencer Rattler free falls, Sam Howell to Giants

17. Kansas City Chiefs: Andrew Booth Jr., CB, Clemson
For a couple of years now, the Kansas City Chiefs defense has been trotting out a patchwork group of cornerbacks. They continue to find guys who can play well in their scheme but rather than look for talented players who didn’t make it elsewhere, they could use the upcoming draft to add a player with first-round talent to their defensive backfield.
That leads to the selection of Andrew Booth, Jr. from Clemson. The 6-foot-0, 195-pound Booth is one of the top corners in this class. He could be better at the point of attack, evidenced by his six pass defenses and two picks in three seasons, but he’s an ascending player who will only get better with seasoning.
18. Los Angeles Chargers: Christian Harris, LB, Alabama
The Los Angeles Chargers are a team on the verge of greatness. They have the making of an elite offense and there are also some great pieces on defense, with Joey Bosa leading the way. They could look to add someone opposite Bosa — which would help a lot — or perhaps they could go with a talented linebacker such as Christian Harris.
In this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, they go with Harris who can help in several ways. He can fly from one side of the field to the other but also gets after the quarterback. In 2020, he had 4.5 sacks and seven tackles for a loss. He could be a huge addition to the Chargers defense.
