Quarterly MVP odds: +5000 Derrick Henry

Finally, we have our first non-quarterback join the list.

Just like he’s done for the past two seasons, running back Derrick Henry is currently leading the NFL rushing yards…by a lot. Henry’s 510 yards is nearly 150 yards more than second-place Nick Chubb. If you take a close look at the career of Henry, he’s done nothing but get better and better.

Henry went from 490 yards in his rookie season, to 744 in his second season. From there, his numbers began flying off the charts, going to 1,059 in year three, 1,540 in year four, and finally, 2027 just last season. That latter number ranks sixth in NFL history.

If our math is correct, Henry is on track for another 2,000-yard season. And, since the NFL now has 17 games as opposed to 16, we’re going to go ahead and predict that Henry will break Eric Dickerson’s record of 2,105 rushing yards.

If Henry pulls that off and the Tennessee Titans go on to win at least 12 games, Henry should be walking away with the league MVP award. Maybe bettors should keep an eye on him.
