Quarterly MVP odds: +5000 Baker Mayfield

Baker Mayfield has no chance to win the MVP. None, zilch, zip zero. For those who already plunked their money down on Mayfield to bring home the hardware, we’re sorry to tell you but kiss that money goodbye.

At this point in Mayfield’s career, he’s viewed as a game manager and someone that the Cleveland Browns win in spite of. It’s pretty difficult to argue with that sentiment. In four games, Mayfield hasn’t even cracked a thousand yards yet (935). Also, to make matters worse, Mayfield has thrown only two touchdowns during the first quarter of the season.

Mayfield’s lack of numbers is mostly because the Browns aren’t willing to put the ball in his hands exclusively. Presently, Mayfield ranks near the bottom of the barrel, 26th overall, in terms of pass attempts with 113.

Mayfield simply isn’t going to have the numbers, despite his team picking up quality wins all year. If we didn’t pile on enough, then check this out, its recently been reported that Mayfield has a partially torn labrum in his left non-throwing shoulder. Bettors should steer clear of Mayfield.
