Quarterly MVP odds: +750 Matthew Stafford

There were a ton of skeptical eyes placed on Matthew Stafford. For over a decade, Stafford was putting up monster numbers as a member of the Detroit Lions. He seemed to be just as talented as anyone in the league. But his eye-popping stats and jaw-dropping throws did little to nothing to help the Lions win games.

The franchise was mired in mediocrity and Stafford finally made his way out. With a team full of weapons in the LA Rams and a head coach in Sean McVay that appeared to be as good as anyone, this was Stafford’s big chance to turn around the perception of himself around the league.

So far so good.

Stafford is proving that it was all the Detroit Lions’ fault. So far, the former number one overall pick has thrown the second-most touchdowns in the league with 11 and the third most yards with 1,222.

The Rams have looked like world-beaters in the process. They handed the defending champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers the first loss of their season and they continually take down the opposition while racking up the points.

If our list had come out a bit earlier, Stafford would’ve been at the very top but a one-sided beating against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 4 pushed Stafford’s odds down a bit.
