The 39th greatest quarterback-wide receiver duo in NFL history: Brett Favre & Sterling Sharpe

Sterling Sharpe was on his way to all-time status. With that said, his placement amongst the best receivers to ever play the game never took place as a neck injury saw him end his career way too early.

While we hated to start this on a somber note, we felt it was only right that we acknowledged what took place before we dive in. Now, on a much brighter scale, from 1992-1994, Sterling was arguably the best receiver in the game. Making his own case as the best quarterback at the time, was Brett Favre.

In just three seasons together, the pair connected on 315 passes, 42 touchdowns, and 3,854 yards. Again, that’s only in three seasons.

Favre was accurate with the ball and had no problem pushing it down the field, much to the delight of Sharpe. Smaller defenders had absolutely no chance of matching his physicality and bigger players were too slow on their feet.

There’s no telling what they would’ve done together had Sharpe stayed healthy or how many Super Bowls they could’ve brought home.
