The 36th greatest quarterback-wide receiver duo in NFL history: Carson Palmer & Chad Ochocinco

He was a bit quirky at times but Chad Ochocinco was one of the great wide receivers of his era. From 2004-2010, Ochocinco had himself a great dance partner in quarterback Carson Palmer. As a duo, they went on to wreck the league every Sunday.

In five of those seven seasons together, Ochocinco was named to five Pro Bowl teams and two All-Pros. Palmer, to his credit, was a two-time Pro Bowler.

No matter the defensive schemes that were placed in front of them, both players were able to put up monster numbers. Ochocinco recorded five seasons of at least a thousand yards and led the entire NFL in that category in 2006 with 1,369. Palmer had back-to-back seasons in which he registered over 4,000 passing yards and led the entire NFL in touchdowns with 32 in 2005.

While they ultimately went on to have almost 8,000 passing yards together, they didn’t have a ton of success as a team. Only twice did the Bengals make the playoffs in those seven years. Even when they did find themselves on the biggest of stages, they failed to do much of anything, losing both of their appearances in the first round.
