The 8th greatest quarterback-wide receiver duo in NFL history: Peyton Manning & Reggie Wayne

There’s no denying the greatness of Peyton Manning. With five MVP awards, two Super Bowl trophies, and a first-ballot trip to the Hall of Fame, Manning carved out one of the greatest careers in NFL history. But, just because he was great, it doesn’t mean he didn’t have a ton of help along the way.

Manning had his fair share of great wide receivers to work with and Reggie Wayne was one of them. For seven consecutive seasons, Wayne registered at least 1,055 yards. In 2007, he went completely bonkers, catching 104 balls for 1,510 receiving yards and ten touchdowns.

As the numbers for Wayne went up, so did the accolades. The all-world receiver made six Pro Bowl appearances and made an All-Pro team in 2010. Few receivers in history could step up to the plate like Wayne.

In 2006, after suffering several setbacks with the Colts, both Manning and Wayne finally got the proverbial monkey off their backs when they knocked off the Chicago Bears, 29-17 in the Super Bowl.
