The 3rd greatest quarterback-wide receiver duo in NFL history: Johnny Unitas & Raymond Berry

Join us as we take a step into the way back machine.

Johnny Unitas and Raymond Berry were one of the first quarterback/wide receiver pairings that truly did serious damage to the league. With his number one receiver by his side, Unitas went on to lead the NFL in both touchdowns and passing yards four times. The duo made consistent trips to the Pro Bowl and All-Pro teams as a result.

In a day and age where passing the ball was somewhat frowned upon, Unitas bucked the rules and made sure his trusty sidekick got the ball early and often. In total, the two accumulated over 9,200 yards and 600 receptions.

As members of the Baltimore Colts, the franchise enjoyed plenty of success. In 1958 and 1959, the Colts, thanks to Unitas and Berry of course, were the last team standing, winning back-to-back NFL Championships. Finding their highlight tapes might be a bit difficult, but trust us, with these two on the field together, the Colts were nearly impossible to defeat.
