The greatest quarterback-wide receiver duo in NFL history: Peyton Manning & Marvin Harrison

Throughout the history of the NFL, there have been numerous quarterback-wide receiver combinations that have been flat-out impressive. As you can tell by our list, the numbers and achievements accumulated have been ridiculous. But, there is one pairing that stands above the rest.

Marvin Harrison may have been chosen with the 19th overall pick in the 1996 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts but he appeared to be on his way to becoming a monumental bust. In his first two seasons, Harrison racked up just under 870 yards and only a handful of touchdowns. Once Peyton Manning came onboard in 1998 and got comfortable in 1999, Harrison turned into a monster.

For nine straight seasons, Harrison had no less than 1,113 yards. He was also selected to the Pro Bowl nine straight years and led the NFL in receiving yards twice. Manning’s success was also notable, making numerous trips to the Pro Bowl and bagging multiple MVP trophies.

Currently, Manning and Harrison hold the regular-season record for the most touchdowns between a quarterback and wide receiver with 114. The pair didn’t bag as many Super Bowls as previous names mentioned on this list but they did manage to nab one in 2006.
