The 43rd greatest quarterback-wide receiver duo in NFL history:  Rich Gannon & Tim Brown

There was nothing truly special about Rich Gannon. During his time with the Minnesota Vikings, Kansas City Chiefs, and Washington Redskins – Gannon never threw for more than 2,305 yards. A respectable number but nothing that was truly impressive. Yet, the moment he hooked up with wide receiver Tim Brown on the Oakland Raiders, Gannon transformed into one of the best quarterbacks in the league.

From the 1999 season to the 2002 season, Gannon recorded no less than 3,430 passing yards in a given year. The Raiders also had three straight seasons of double-digit wins and a playoff berth in each of those seasons.

Brown was always amongst the league’s best. He registered nine straight seasons of over a thousand yards, three of which came with Gannon as his quarterback. With three deep playoff runs from 2000-2002, including a Super Bowl trip in 2002, this pairing was highly successful and one of the best ever.
