2021 NFL picks, score predictions for Week 6
Cincinnati Bengals (3-2) at Detroit Lions (0-5)
Sunday, October 17, 1PM ET
The Detroit Lions have to get their first win eventually, right? I think they will, because they aren’t as bad as some of the other teams in the league that have already notched their first win. Unfortunately, I don’t think they get that initial W in Week 6.
The Cincinnati Bengals have been one of the biggest surprises of the 2021 campaign. With the Joe Burrow-JaMarr Chase connection paying immediate dividends and the Cincinnati defense exceeding expectations, the Bengals will remain relevant in the AFC playoff picture throughout the season.
I don’t see a scenario in which Jared Goff and the Lions keep up with Burrow and Co. Even if the Detroit offense plays well (which it has done at times this year), there’s no way their defense can provide enough support to keep the Bengals from pulling away.
The Lions keep it interesting, putting up a nice amount of points. Unfortunately, the well-rounded Cincinnati offense is too much for them to handle, resulting in an extended stay on the winless list for Detroit.
Prediction: Bengals win 31-23 | Spread: Bengals (-3.5)
