The Tampa Bay Buccaneers took care of business on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles. Which players stood out for the defending champs?

No NFL team likes dealing with a short week and having to go on the road just four days after playing another game is a brutal ask, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers endured.

The Buccaneers were able to hold off a late rally by the Philadelphia Eagles to improve to 5-1 on the season while the Eagles dropped to 2-4.

The Buccaneers dominated this game in time of possession (39:56 – 20:04) and just about every other phase of the game. They may have fallen asleep at the wheel a bit in the fourth quarter, but this was a game they sort of got the win in the bag and got out of Philly. Which players showed out for the Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football?

1. Antonio Brown, WR

Since coming to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Antonio Brown has slowly crept back to the level of effectiveness that he once was with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Brown may not be the same type of vertical threat he once was, but this guy can run routes with the best of them, he has incredibly strong hands and great concentration when the ball is thrown his direction, and he’s very savvy after the catch.

When Brown is focused on football, he’s a force out there on the field.

Against the Philadelphia Eagles, he had a team-high 13 targets, nine receptions, and 93 yards with a touchdown.

Is it far off to say that among the stars the Bucs have at receiver, Brown is the best?

It’s hard to say that because Mike Evans and Chris Godwin bring so much to the table, but having Brown along with those two guys is an absolute luxury.

Brown is still a star and he’s still capable of dominating games.
