Buccaneers players that did not disappoint in win vs. Eagles

2. Leonard Fournette, RB

There is going to be no shortage of players from the Jacksonville Jaguars in the last five years or so that wind up having really successful careers elsewhere in the NFL.

As the Jaguars have attempted to climb out of the NFL’s proverbial cellar, they have let go of some really good players for draft compensation in the process. Other players, they have just let go.

Fournette, who by the age of 24 had run for over 1,000 yards twice for the Jags, was just flat-out cut by the team.

Yikes.

Fournette had 81 rushing yards, 46 receiving yards, and two touchdowns on Thursday Night Football against the Eagles. With 147 yards from scrimmage and a clearly established RB1 role on this Buccaneers team, Fournette is proving week after week to be such a great value.

This was Fournette’s third straight game with over 100 yards from scrimmage and he’s obviously not doing that with many explosive plays.

At some point, Fournette will hit a groove and we’ll see his outstanding long speed on display, not just his physical running between the tackles and abilities as a receiving outlet.
