Dallas Cowboys Round 5 Pick: Tre Turner, WR, Virginia Tech

Another spot where the Cowboys might have some change in 2022 is at wide receiver. Cedrick Wilson and Michael Gallup will each be free agents — and it seems as though there’s no way both come back. Gallup will likely strike a big deal elsewhere and while Wilson deserves a raise, he might be able to get that from Dallas.

If so, they’re still three deep with Wilson serving as the third guy behind CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper. As for the fourth spot, Simi Fehoko will be in the mix but a rookie could be as well. In this mock, that rookie is Tre Turner. A Virginia Tech product, Turner averages 16.8 yards per reception and has 425 yards rushing as well. He could be a fun weapon for Kellen Moore to employ.

Dallas Cowboys Round 6 Pick: Avery Young, CB, Rutgers

Anthony Brown is a player who could find himself on the bubble after an up and down start to the season. He’s improved since Week 1 but there have been some issues along the way. Dallas looks to start adding more competition at the spot by taking Avery Young from Rutgers.

The 6-foot-1 and 205-pounder has played in the slot and on the boundary and even has a history playing basketball. He’s athletic and tough and while he could improve upon his ball skills, he’s a quality find this late.
