FanDuel NFL picks and advice for Week 6 of the 2021 NFL season to help you build the perfect DFS fantasy football lineup.

Welcome back to another week of FanDuel DFS advice, this time for Week 6 of the 2021 NFL season. Week 5 was a bit of a mixed bag when it came to DFS, as while I had most of my cash format lineups cash in due to the chalky plays like Davante Adams, Derrick Henry, and Alexander Mattison all perform, I also had a rough week in tournament formats due to my low exposure in the Chargers versus Browns game.

Week 6 is the first week with bye weeks this season, with the San Francisco 49ers, New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons, and New York Jets all having the week off. Combine this with the fact that we have a London game along with the usual three prime-time games and that means the main slate will have a lot less players than it normally does.

Among those participating in the prime-time games are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Philadelphia Eagles, Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars, Seattle Seahawks, Pittsburgh Steelers, Buffalo Bills, and Tennessee Titans. While these are not necessarily the highest-powered offenses, it still means you will have fewer options to choose from and thus will create even more chalk plays among the public.

When talking about players I will reference the salaries and salary cap of a typical FanDuel tournament. I will also show a complete sample lineup, which consists of nine positions: QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, FLEX, and DEF. Note that your individual strategy should change based on the type of contests you enter, though I will reference different strategies for both cash and tournament formats.

Without further ado, here are picks and advice for every position for Week 6 of the NFL season!

FanDuel NFL Week 6 picks and lineup advice: Quarterback

Patrick Mahomes ($9000) is the most expensive quarterback on the slate, and for good reason. He has put up at least twenty fantasy points in every game this season, including a three-turnover performance last week against Buffalo. Now he gets to face a Washington secondary that has yielded the second-most fantasy points to the quarterback position. In a game that has the highest over-under of the week, I like Mahomes’ chances of being the highest-scoring quarterback on the slate.

However, when choosing your quarterback you may not have enough money to pay up for Mahomes, as the players you will stack with him will also usually be expensive. I like Lamar Jackson ($8200) and Justin Herbert ($8000) as slightly cheaper options in a game with a similar Vegas projection when it comes to the total. With the Ravens’ running back room decimated, Jackson has become the entire focal point of this offense and should provide a solid floor with his rushing ability and unlimited upside like we just saw on Monday night.

Herbert on the other hand has been the most impressive quarterback in the league through five weeks, a trend that should continue against a Baltimore defense that has been below average against the pass.

There are not a lot of cheaper options that I like this week, but Taylor Heinicke ($7300)  is certainly an appealing option against a Chiefs defense that has given up the most fantasy points to the quarterback position. With Heinicke likely having to throw to keep up with the Chiefs’ high-powered offense, I like his odds of having a bounce-back game off a terrible performance against New Orleans.
