The 22nd greatest quarterback-tight end duo in NFL history: Lynn Dickey & Paul Coffman

In the long history of Green Bay Packers football, of course there was a great quarterback-tight end duo. Representing one of the charter franchises is Lynn Dickey and Paul Coffman. These two played seven seasons together from 1979-1985. It would have been more, but Dickey broke his leg in 1977 and missed two seasons, delaying the start of their connection.

Once Dickey returned, he helped Coffman become one of the biggest stars in the league during their run. From 1982-1984, Coffman went to three straight Pro bowls. His career year came in 1983 when he caught 54 passes for 814 yards and 11 touchdowns.

1983 was also Dickey’s best year as he led the NFL with both 4,458 passing yards and 32 touchdowns.

The duo didn’t accomplish much team success having only made the playoffs once in 1982 where they lost in the divisional round. Together though, they did contribute 267 catches for 3,564 yards and 37 touchdowns in 84 games. Good enough to get both members in the Packers Hall of Fame.
