New York Giants: Daniel Jones replacement and other 2022 prospects

2. Jaxson Kirkland, OL, Washington

Stop me if you’ve heard this before. Part of why the Giants’ offense lack success was the offensive line. Despite their offensive front woes, the G-Men decided not to draft an offensive lineman early in the 2021 NFL Draft.

They have question marks across the line. Will the Giants bring back Will Hernandez? Nate Solder is average, but they should look to move on. A player like Jaxson Kirkland is the perfect prospect for them.

At 6’6″ 310-pounds, Kirkland looks the part of a left tackle. He’s fluid, long with good lateral agility. He understands hands placement and shows power at the point. His lateral athleticism allows him to overcome initial mistakes. If the Giants don’t bring back Hernandez,

Kirkland has played guard for the Huskies. If they decide to move on from Solder, they can plug Kirkland at either tackle spot. He displayed good functional strength to take on tackles. He can pull and get to the second level with ease.

The versatile Huskie is a Top 20 prospect the Giants should have on their radar. Pairing him with Andrew Thomas gives them bookend tackles. Other offensive line options are Evan Neal from Alabama and Kentucky’s Darian Kinnard.
