Fantasy Football waiver wire pickups, Week 7: Brutal bye week options

Quarterback

1. Tua Tagovailoa, Dolphins

If you didn’t wake up early enough, you might have missed one of the better performances of Tua Tagovailoa’s young NFL career at least as it relates to fantasy football stats.

In London, Tagovailoa threw for 329 yards on over 70 percent passing with two touchdowns. He also added 22 yards rushing.

Tagovailoa might be worth a bye week streaming option if you are in desperate need. The Dolphins are willing to ride that left arm and throw it almost 50 times in a game if need be.

2. Carson Wentz, Colts

Once again, I’m going to pitch the idea of throwing a claim at Carson Wentz.

In his last three games, Wentz is 60-of-87 passing for 853 yards and six touchdowns with no interceptions and only one lost fumble.

He’s taking care of the ball, making big plays downfield, and he might soon be getting back TY Hilton off of the injury list.

We’ll see what happens there, but things could really be looking up for Wentz and the Colts offense.

3. Derek Carr, Raiders

In four out of six games this season, Carr has thrown for 341 or more yards. He just shredded the high-priced Denver Broncos secondary and in five out of six games, he has had two touchdown passes.

Carr may not be a QB1 for fantasy football, but in a bye week, there are far worse plays.
