17. Pittsburgh Steelers: Carson Strong, QB, Nevada

Ben Roethlisberger is still out there slinging the ball like crazy for the Pittsburgh Steelers but he hasn’t looked great doing so. Sure, he’s effective still but there’s noticeably less zip on his throws and that’s only going to get worse in time.

Pittsburgh does have some options with both Mason Rudolph and Dwayne Haskins on the bench but neither has proven they can handle the job full-time. That’s why Carson Strong is the pick for them here.

Strong is a pocket passer who can disseminate the ball to the Steelers’ plethora of receiving options. This team is still decent and adding a young quarterback who can be the long-term answer should get them back on track.

18. New York Giants (via Chicago Bears): Kaiir Elam, CB, Florida

We already added a new quarterback for the Giants in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft as Malik Willis went to them at No. 3. Now, they’re back on the clock with the pick they added last year in a trade with the Chicago Bears.

This time, they elect to go with a cornerback as they take Kaiir Elam from Florida. Elam has two family members who played in the NFL and could be the best of the bunch.
