25 best Offensive Rookie of the Year winners ranked by playing career: 25. Dak Prescott – Dallas Cowboys

It was really hard to rank the players who are really early in their careers. It seems like the voters are avoiding busts like the plague, with players like Alvin Kamara, Kyler Murray, and the aforementioned Herbert winning it in recent years. They all seem just too early in their careers to rank them here, but quietly, Dak Prescott is in his sixth NFL season as the leader of the Dallas Cowboys. He took over for Tony Romo as a 4th-round pick out of Mississippi State.

Prescott never allowed anyone to take his job after taking it from Romo. Short of an injury-riddled 2020 season, Dak is the man under center for Dallas. He’s one of the best quarterbacks in the league on one of the best offenses in the league.

Not counting 2021 stats which will keep changing depending on when the readers click this, Prescott has 106 touchdowns and 40 interceptions. That’s a great ratio already, and he’s only going to get better with age. He has one losing record in his career, and it came in five games last season. He’s taken a Dallas team that lived in mediocrity and took them to another level. Now, they have actual expectations, and this season they might be one of the best teams in the league.

Without Prescott, they are a middling NFC East team trying to find its way. He won the rookie of the year after taking over for Romo and throwing for 3,600 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions. He was great, and he hasn’t slowed down since.
