Dallas Cowboys trade target No. 1: Emmanuel Ogbah, EDGE, Miami Dolphins

Randy Gregory has been a beast this season for Dallas. He was especially vital in their recent win over the New England Patriots as he had a key strip-sack in regulation and another sack in overtime to help the Cowboys pull off the comeback.

He now has seven tackles, four sacks, and a forced fumble this season while stepping up as the No. 1 pass rusher with DeMarcus Lawrence out. Lawrence is expressing his desire to get back on the field but there’s no timetable for that to happen — and even when he does return, Dallas could use another player to rotate with him and Gregory.

One such player could be Emmanuel Ogbah, who is currently with the Miami Dolphins. Like the previously mentioned Bryce Callahan, Ogbah has an expiring contract. He also plays for a 1-6 franchise that could be in the market for more draft picks.

Dallas did show some interest in Ogbah back in 2016 when he was coming into the league out of Oklahoma State before he went to Cleveland at pick No. 32. He has 62 career starts in 72 games and broke out in 2020 with a career high 9.0 sacks while also registering 42 tackles.

His numbers aren’t as impressive this season with just 16 tackles and 2.5 sacks through seven games but he still has 12 pressures and sets the edge well in the run game.

Dallas could finally bring him back to Texas where he was a high school star, which would solidify their defensive line for the playoff push and beyond.
