The Indianapolis Colts improved to 3-4 with a win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football. It was a game played in a storm as the rain clearly affected many plays — but it seemed to bother Jimmy Garoppolo of the 49ers more than Carson Wentz of the Colts.

For example, with the game on the line, Jimmy G. threw a couple of picks that helped seal the win for Indy. Another thing that helped them walk away with the win was Wentz hitting Michael Pittman late in the fourth quarter for a touchdown that put them up 30-18.

Now at 3-4, they’re not in great shape but they’re also not completely out of it. The AFC South has a clear leader in the Tennessee Titans but with three Wild Card spots available, the Colts could find themselves in the mix if they can continue to pull out some wins as they did in Week 7.

Winning on the road is always a confidence booster but to do so in terrible weather while the offense managed just 147 yards through the air is even better for their psyche. Of course, if Jonathan Taylor continues to run as he did in this one and the defense keeps generating turnovers, that will also go a long way.
