NFL Power Rankings, Week 8: Texans contending for Kayvon Thibodeaux

There’s only one thing keeping the Houston Texans from being the worst team in the NFL, and that’s the fact that they’ve at least won a game. Sure, it was against the Jacksonville Jaguars so it wasn’t really impressive but they are at least 1-6 whereas the Lions are 0-7.

The two won’t play this season but you would have to think Houston would struggle to win. Of course, such a game would probably just be a loss for any of the fans who tuned in.

Houston is now in the midst of a six-game losing streak and this last game was ugly. They were on the road against Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals and this game was over by the half. A safety early on gave the Texans a 2-0 lead (although a penalty was missed on that play) after the first quarter but it was 17-5 by the intermission.

Arizona continued to pour it on as the Texans fell 31-5. Davis Mills continues to struggle with just 135 yards on the day. Their run game did him no favors either as they put up a measly 42 yards on 15 rushes.

Outside of one interception and the safety in the first quarter, the Texans’ defense was also non-existent. Kyler Murray had his way and Zach Ertz turned back the clock in his debut with Arizona. Houston appears to be another team that needs to start thinking about their plans this offseason.
