It looked for a minute as though the Miami Dolphins were about to be blown out of the building in Week 7. Following their loss to the New York Jets in London, they were playing the Atlanta Falcons at home and fell behind 20-7 in the third quarter. Then, they got things figured out.

Miami ended up going on a 21-7 scoring run of their won and with 2:33 left to play, they took the lead 28-27 when Tua Tagovailoa hit wideout Mack Hollins from four yards out to take the lead. But then, their defense was gashed at the end.

Atlanta moved it 57 yards on nine plays and it could have been more had they not gotten into field goal range and started to worry about running the clock down. They did that and Younghoe Koo walked in and scored a 36-yard field goal to send Miami fans home with broken hearts.

On the season, it means the Dolphins are now 1-6. That means after just seven games, they have as many losses as they did in the entire 2020 campaign.

Oftentimes teams that blow up the way Miami did in 2020 can have some regression when their schedule gets tougher but this doesn’t seem to be what’s happening. Miami is losing to everyone and they seem to be nowhere close to figuring it out.
