NFL Power Rankings, Week 8: Giants get another W

It was just their second win of the season and it was against a team on a terrible downward spiral, but that doesn’t mean we should overlook the good things the New York Giants did in Week 7.

Quarterback Daniel Jones was smart and efficient with the ball as he and the offense scored 23 points (the defense added two on a safety) in a lopsided win. However, it was the play of the defense that really stood out as noted by Matt Lombardo of G-Men HQ.

"“Safety Jabrill Peppers made a huge play in the second quarter when he chased down Sam Darnold from behind for a sack. Later, cornerback James Bradberry goaded Darnold into an interception, when he hung back in coverage and pulled down a leaping grab on second-down, keeping points off the board in the red zone. New York’s defense only allowed the Panthers to cross the 50-yard line on two of six first half possessions and held Carolina to just 121 total yards of offense in the first half.” — Lombardo, G-Men HQ"

New York will next take the field at home against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football. This will be a much greater test for their defense as the Chiefs are still a dangerous team, even with their recent struggles.
