Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup (13) catches a pass against Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Mackensie Alexander (21) in the first quarter of the NFL Week 14 game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Dallas Cowboys at Paul Brown Stadium in downtown Cincinnati on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020. NFL Trade Deadline player to watch No. 4: Michael Gallup, WR, Dallas Cowboys

Michael Gallup is a good receiver who just so happens to play on a team with several options at the position. Along with the former third-round pick, the Dallas Cowboys have Amari Cooper who they added in a blockbuster trade back in 2018, and CeeDee Lamb who was their No. 1 pick in 2020.

Gallup currently sits as the No. 3 guy on the team and that’s a luxury for Dallas since he’s a guy who had more than 1,000-yards receiving back in 2019. As good as he is, the Cowboys are currently 5-1 even without Gallup who was injured in their Week 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

With him sidelined, Dallas has still been an offensive powerhouse and their passing game hasn’t missed a beat thanks in large part to Cedrick Wilson. The former sixth-round pick has 14 receptions for 168 yards and two touchdowns so far and is already close to topping all of his career highs.

Wilson and Gallup are both also in the final year of their respective deals and Wilson would surely be the more affordable player to retain. For that reason, Dallas could decide to hitch their wagon to Wilson and see what they could get for Gallup. Of course, this is all contingent on him getting back to health, but all signs are pointing to that happening soon.
