NFL Trade Deadline player to watch No. 1: Allen Robinson, WR, Chicago Bears

Another team that has been trending in the wrong direction this season is the Chicago Bears. Matt Nagy has continued to build up detractors with his frustrating offense and the inability to develop Justin Fields has really started to show as well.

Their latest game was a disaster as Fields had five turnovers and just doesn’t look to be a fit in this offense. Another problem is the way they just can’t get the ball to Allen Robinson enough.

A former Pro Bowl wideout, Robinson has just 23 receptions for 250 yards and one touchdown in seven games. If he stays at this average that would be 56 receptions for 607 and two touchdowns — maybe three if we round up instead of down.

Simply put, that’s not enough for a player of Robinson’s caliber. So rather than allow him to be underutilized on a team that’s going nowhere, the Bears might be willing to see if a contending team is willing to give up a decent pick in exchange for his services.

Talent-wise, Robinson is still one of the best in the business. That means there could be a team out there willing to give up a second-day pick in order to bolster their passing game for the second half of the 2021 season.
