5 Dallas Cowboys players who likely won’t return in 2022

The Dallas Cowboys will have some tough roster decisions to make in 2022 which could lead to these five players heading elsewhere
Entering Week 8, the Dallas Cowboys are currently one of the hottest teams in the NFL. Since losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on a late field goal in Week 1, they have reeled off five wins in a row.
During their winning streak, they made a huge move as they released linebacker Jaylon Smith who was still playing on a five-year extension signed in 2019.
That move highlights the fact that the front office is finally willing to make some tough calls. With that being said, we take this opportunity to look ahead to the 2022 offseason and predict which five players might not return next year.
Dallas Cowboys player who won’t return No. 5: Trysten Hill
The 2019 NFL Draft was the second most infuriating process for Cowboys fans in recent memory. The most infuriating was 2017 when they took Taco Charlton over T.J. Watt but no one wants to re-open that wound.
As for 2019, that was when they brought in every safety in the class for a workout only to ignore the position completely once they were on the clock and take Trysten Hill. Once again, the powers that be were negatively influenced by Rod Marinelli who wanted Hill despite the fact that he was a backup in his final collegiate season and had maturity and attitude concerns.
Still, the Jones family let their defensive coordinator make their first pick which came in Round 2. Unsurprisingly, Hill has been a bust.
He has yet to play in 2021 as he’s still recovering from a torn ACL but for his career, he has just 16 tackles in 12 games. While he’s finally returning to practice, it seems to only be a matter of time the two sides split up and it will likely happen after 2021.
