3 Evan Engram landing spots at the 2021 NFL trade deadline

3. Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers have been much more aggressive this year pursuing veterans that can help them than in years past.

At Aaron Rodgers’ request, they traded for Randall Cobb.

They made a trade with the Giants already to acquire Isaac Yiadom at the cornerback position.

They brought in Jaylen Smith when the Cowboys cut him.

They just signed veteran pass rusher Whitney Mercilus when the Texans cut him.

The Packers might be more inclined to make a deal for offensive line help at the trade deadline (hello, Andre Dillard?) but the idea of Evan Engram joining forces for this season with Aaron Rodgers is intriguing.

The Packers already lead the NFL in “X” receivers but there was a point when this team had plans for Devin Funchess to be a big part of the offense, and perhaps Engram can be the guy to come in and make those dreams a reality.

Engram is obviously not a traditional tight end, but he can be split out and used a variety of ways.

Since the Packers are a contending team, making a trade for a player like Engram would be a contending move and something that could put them over the top in January.
