The Indianapolis Colts are quietly sneaking back into relevance in the AFC. They could make some moves before the trade deadline.

The Indianapolis Colts are quietly creeping back into relevance in the AFC playoff race in the weeks leading up to the annual NFL trade deadline.

The deadline is not until after Week 8 action, so the Colts will have one more opportunity to get a victory and get themselves to .500 on the season (4-4). That will not be easy as the Colts play host to the white-hot Tennessee Titans, but you never know what could happen in the NFL. The Titans got beat by the Jets, after all.

Even with eight selections already in the 2022 NFL Draft, the Colts could be looking to recoup some capital after the Carson Wentz trade, which will cost them at least a 1st- or 2nd-round pick.

Indianapolis Colts: 3 trades that could go down before the deadline

The Indianapolis Colts may have some current players on their roster on the trade block, for the right price. This is obviously a team that is not trying to “sell” but there are players that could net the Colts some value in return before they get no value at all.

Let’s take a look at a handful of deals that could go down before the 2021 NFL trade deadline.

1. Marlon Mack to the Ravens or Rams

You would think there would not be very many NFL teams interested in making trades at the running back position, yet we’ve already seen a number of those in the last couple of months.

The Saints recently made a deal to acquire Mark Ingram. The Rams already made a deal with the Patriots for Sony Michel.

Although it seems the market for Marlon Mack is rather cool, things could heat up closer to the deadline and he would be a worthwhile risk/reward proposition for a team that considers itself a playoff contender.

No NFL team has been hit worse by injuries at running back this season than the Ravens.

The Rams have Sony Michel and Darrell Henderson, but Marlon Mack could possibly be an upgrade for them.

I think the best Indianapolis could hope for in return for Mack at this point would be a sixth-round pick or maybe a swap of picks to move up a round.
