2022 NFL Mock Draft: Picks 27-28

27. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Trent McDuffie, CB, Washington

player. Scouting Report. CB. Trent McDuffie. 27. 48. Pick Analysis. Washington

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers used so many picks in the 2021 NFL Draft on players at positions they are already set in terms of the starting lineup.

The cornerback position was slightly neglected and not having depth there going into the season has proven to be a little bit of an issue for this Bucs team.

Here at pick 27 overall, they get a pretty great value in Trent McDuffie, who would be able to contribute immediately on one of the best defenses in the league.

This guy can really click-and-close and has tremendous speed at the cornerback position.

28. Detroit Lions: Carson Strong, QB, Nevada

player. Nevada. QB. Carson Strong. 28. 50. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

After using the top pick in this mock draft scenario on Kayvon Thibodeaux, the Detroit Lions end the fall of Carson Strong, who could wind up going so much higher than this that we all have a good laugh at these predictions down the line.

Strong has one of the best arms in this draft class and has certainly shown enough to be a first-round candidate in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Does he have what it takes to be a franchise quarterback in the NFL?

Some think he’s being criminally underrated up to this point.

Even though other QBs in this class offer more in terms of what they can do as runners, Strong has some of the best throws of any QB in this class on tape, especially working deep downfield.
