NFL: Ranking every quarterback midseason: 21. Daniel Jones – New York Giants

The NFC East is the division of below average at the quarterback position. Well, except for one clear exception. Daniel Jones is not that exception. He’s delightfully average. There are times when he looks pretty good, especially when he’s successfully using his feet. If Jones is rushing, then the Giants are usually moving on offense at a pretty decent rate.

Then, he’ll throw the worse interception you’ve ever seen. Jones can’t do it all by himself, and he doesn’t have much help. His offensive line is so bad. His receivers aren’t making plays outside of Kadarius Toney. Saquon Barkley suffered a major injury again, so they are mixing and matching running backs in New Jersey.

Jones still could be better. He is trying his best, and this catch he made is one of the plays of the year, but as a quarterback, he needs to do a little better. His efficiency has been much better this year, and he’s avoiding bad months and leaving his bad performances in the last week. He’s really only had one atrocious performance, and that was against the Rams. He wasn’t great against the Panthers, but thankfully Darnold was worse and he was able to take an ugly win. He’ll take the wins how he can get them.
