NFL: Ranking every quarterback midseason: 7. Dak Prescott – Dallas Cowboys

Dak Prescott has been really good this season after coming back from his major leg injury last season. The Dallas Cowboys are one of the top contenders in the NFC solely thanks to the return of Prescott. He is so much better than the mean, it propels a decent team into the championship conversation.

There have been times this season where he has been leaned on to win the game by himself. Against the Buccaneers and Patriots, Prescott had more than 50 passing attempts, north of 400 yards, and three touchdown passes in each. He was still able to keep his completion percentage about 70% in both games despite the ludicrous passing attempt numbers.

Prescott does have a small fumble problem that is keeping him out of the top five of this list. He’s lost three fumbles in seven games. He has three other fumbles that the Cowboys helped him recover. Add that to four interceptions on the season, and that equals too many turnovers this season.

Still, Prescott is one of the best quarterbacks in the league. Every time he takes a snap, a touchdown is possible. There are only a select few quarterbacks who can dominate a game like Prescott. The Cowboys’ defense has been better this season, but it’s Prescott who is leading them to a dominant lead in the NFC East and an actual conversation about the Cowboys ending their Super Bowl drought.
