NFL: Ranking every quarterback midseason: 5. Josh Allen – Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen is elite. He is one of the best quarterbacks in the league. He’s ranked fifth on this list, but that somehow feels too low. Allen has been at an MVP level himself at times this season. He had a rough start to the year, but he’s bounced back in a major way. He’s making phenomenal plays again, and his 2020 season is still allowing him some name recognition.

Since Week 3, Josh Allen has been playing very, very well. He’s finding his best players downfield more, and he’s deciding when to run at the most opportune times. His decision-making was always below elite level while his skills might be the best in the league. This season, his decision-making is quickly equaling those skills.

Allen’s stat lines have been impressive in the month of October. Even in a loss to the Titans on Monday Night Football, Allen was awesome. He found a way to find holes in the Titans defense, and still threw for 353 yards and three touchdowns.

The Bills are winning games thanks to Allen. He’s finding ways to get Stefon Diggs, Emmanuel Sanders, Devin Singletary, and Cole Beasley involved in the offense while also turning Dawson Knox into a surprise star at the tight end position. Allen is crushing it, and he can easily be anywhere in the top five.
