2021 NFL Power Rankings Week 9: Packers take top spot, Browns in a tailspin
By Randy Gurzi
The Arizona Cardinals were one play away from going 8-0 but instead, they suffered their first loss of the season. After going the length of the field, Kyler Murray and A.J. Green had a terrible miscommunication that resulted in a game-sealing interception.
Even in defeat, Arizona showed they can handle the spotlight and can go toe-to-toe with some of the best teams in the NFL. They should learn from this one and get better.
No Dak, no problem.
Cooper Rush was in for an injured Dak Prescott and all he did was throw for 325 yards and two touchdowns on the night — including a game-winner to Amari Cooper.
Cooper’s winning catch gave him 122 yards on the night and CeeDee Lamb added another 112.
But what was most impressive was how well the defense played. Even without their patented turnovers, the Cowboys defense did what they needed to and helped them win their sixth in a row.
It was kind of weird to see, but the NFL scheduled the Los Angeles Rams a practice in Houston this weekend. Or at least that’s how it looked as they never had any competition on Sunday.
Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp looked as though they were playing backyard football and Darrell Henderson was unstoppable on the ground. L.A. keeps rilling and looks like a team that will be hard to stop in the playoffs.
Thursday night brought us a fun game between the undefeated Cardinals and the Green Bay Packers. Arizona nearly pulled off a late upset as the Packers were up by three with time running out and had just surrendered a long drive.
However, the drive ended with a pick in the end zone as Kyler Murray and A.J. Green were not on the same page. Now, the Pack is 7-1 and they’re the only team to give the Cards a loss.
Their next game will be another exciting one as they take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the State Farm Bowl.
