Dallas Cowboys target No. 2: Emmanuel Ogbah

Another player who makes a lot of sense for Dallas to consider is former second-round pick Emmanuel Ogbah. A product of Oklahoma State, the Cowboys were reportedly interested in Ogbah when he entered the 2016 NFL Draft.

However, he went to the Cleveland Browns at No. 32 overall — which just so happened to be the season where that was the top pick in Round 2 thanks to the New England Patriots being stripped of a pick in the opening round.

Ogbah spent the first three seasons of his career in Cleveland before being traded to the Kansas City Chiefs ahead of the 2019 season for Eric Murray. The move worked out for Ogbah as he wound up with a Super Bowl ring but he didn’t stay in Kansas City once his contract was up. Instead, he took his talents to South Beach and had a career year with the Miami Dolphins.

In 2020, he had 42 tackles and nine sacks as he made the most of the first of his two seasons under contract. However, this year, things have been different. Ogbah has just 2.5 sacks as Miami as a whole has been struggling mightily.

The veteran defensive end is still winning his battles and sets the edge against the run but the struggles all around him haven’t helped. With only half a season left on his contract, Miami might be willing to move on in an effort to add draft capital for another rebuild. This could help Dallas since they could use a player of Ogbah’s caliber in their rotation.
