Dallas Cowboys studs and duds: Cooper Rush exceeds expectations in huge win
By Randy Gurzi
Dallas Cowboys stud: Cedrick Wilson
When Michael Gallup went down in Week 1 with a knee injury, it opened the door for Cedrick Wilson to get more snaps and he’s taken advantage of that. Wilson entered the game with 168 yards and two touchdowns and then had a huge score in this one.
With Dallas trailing 10-3 and needing a spark, Wilson delivered as he found an opening on third down. Cooper Rush delivered him a nice ball and Wilson did the rest. Not only did he haul it in but he also took off for a 73-yard touchdown.
He wasn’t done there either as Wilson was in on one of the more exciting plays of the night. He took a reverse pass from Rush and threw it downfield for CeeDee Lamb, who hauled it in for a 35-yard gain. It wasn’t the first time Wilson threw the ball in his career but it was one of the better passes he made.
Dallas Cowboys dud: Trevon Diggs
Trevon Diggs had a pass interference in the first drive and then on fourth-and-one, he was beaten badly by Adam Thielen who picked up 32 yards
Diggs also had an illegal contact which negated a nice pass breakup that he had on Justin Jefferson. He will probably be upset with himself that he had no interceptions in a game for the first time this season but it was really the penalties that landed him on this list.
