Dallas Cowboys studs and duds: Cooper Rush exceeds expectations in huge win

Dallas Cowboys stud: Cooper Rush
What a way to finish your first career start.
Cooper Rush, who is in his fourth NFL season, made his very first start on Sunday night and he was much better than anyone expected. The former undrafted free agent from Central Michigan proved he wasn’t bothered by the spotlight — or playing from behind — as he threw for 325 yards with two touchdowns.
He even led Dallas on a 75-yard drive at the end of the game which ended with him hitting Amari Cooper for a game-winning five-yard touchdown.
Dallas could be without Dak Prescott again next week since reports suggest his calf injury could take four weeks to heal but Rush gives them hope that they could knock off Denver even if No. 4 continues to rest and heal his calf.
Dallas Cowboys dud: Coaching staff
La’el Collins served a five-game suspension and this was his first contest back. And it was great to have him back since Tyron Smith was injured during the game. Or at least it would have been if the coaching staff would have used him.
Instead, the Cowboys coaches elected to keep Collins sidelined which left Cooper Rush playing with Terence Steele and Ty Nsekhe. As expected, Rush faced unnecessary pressure and Nsehke even got hit with an untimely penalty as well which hurt the offense.
They found a way to overcome and get the win but the staff made things harder on themselves than they needed to.
